7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Public Reading

This workshop is focused on the performance aspect of poetry, and will examine participant’s organic voice in performing and reading their own work. Writers will be inspired to dissect the definition of sound, examine the different explanations of sound, and the radical movement of sound. This workshop is designed to challenge and embrace the cadence and rhythm of a writer’s individual voice.

The day long workshop will consist of three parts. The first section will be focused on writing, and writers will focus on exploring sound through written form.

The second section will consist of the performance of poetry, and challenge writers to read their works from the perception of their audience.

The final section will consist of a public interactive reading, where the audience will symbolize being emotionally moved by a reader’s delivery with conscious body language.
